Susan and I attended the East Montpelier Town Meeting this morning. I can’t think of anyone who might read this blog entry who lives in East Montpelier, so I hereby declare that you should all feel jealous. We live in a town graced by people of integrity and intelligence.

My reaction upon leaving the meeting was intense gratitude for what these wonderful people give of themselves, and difficulty in accepting that I have lost some ability to do the same.  I hate that I have lost some brain power because of encephalitis. Sometimes, in dark moments, I wish that I had lost more, so that my awareness of what I have lost were less.
