“A Year of Guys” was a benign title when I started this blog back on December 31, 2013, but thanks to Donald Trump, the concept of “A Year of Guys” has lost its innocence. One cannot read that title without a feeling of revulsion at what that guy Donald Trump has come to represent.

But there’s good news hidden in that title: Trump remains President for only one year until he is impeached! The significance of the Women’s March on the day after Trump’s inauguration truly becomes a beacon for “A Time of Gals.”

I believe that the Women’s March will go into US history as a harbinger of political power truly shifting from men to women. Exactly when, and exactly how this power change will take place I’m not sure, but it’s going to be both exhilarating and scary.

Scary because we are all at risk. We are lurching into a time of volatility where long-held assumptions of “who, what, when, where and why” are going to change. Trump is acting like a little boy playing guns and, scarily, he has access to real ammunition to put in those guns. We must all recognize the danger we’re in, but also seize the opportunity  to plant the seeds of revolution in just the right places, grow healthy “revolution food,” and harvest when the time is right.
I believe that women will lead the way. One more year of guys is about all we can stand. It’s time for gals.
